With our standardize content, we can link to the code section affected by the bill within LexisNexis® so you can examine how a proposal will impact existing law.
To take advantage of our code links:
1. No matter what search you decide to use, within your results, click on the bill number of choice to access the bill reader:
2. Within the bill reader, you can click on "Links to affected code section" within the text version of your choice to access this feature:
- Once you select this feature, the text window will open up.
3. Click on "Links to code compare" located at the top.
- This will take you to the very first instance, where a section is being affected. Click on the red hyperlink:
- There are 2 options when you click on the red hyperlink: "Code Compare" or "Code Link":
- Code Compare will reveal the changes to that particular Section or code being impacted upon enactment.
- Code Link will reveal the section or code as it stands currently today.
4. If you are authorized for State Net Code Navigator, Lexis+, or Lexis AI you will be able to access the impacted statute on the Lexis Legal Research product from these hyperlinks. From there you can:
- You can navigate the code’s Table of Contents to easily browse to other applicable sections of that law.
- Review other enacted bills impacting this statute that have yet to be codified
- Compare the newly enacted laws with the previously codified version.
