What is an amendment?

Any change considered for a proposed bill or resolution.  Proposed amendments must be voted on and adopted before they are incorporated into legislative text. 

• Committee amendments can be proposed by committee members during a meeting or hearing
• Floor amendments can be proposed on the floor of the legislative chamber by members of that body (house/assembly/senate).
