An amendment only reflects the alteration the legislator would like to make to the latest version of text (limited to proposed insertion/deletion/modification). Once the amendment is adopted a new amended version of text is provided (full bill text with amendment incorporated). Amendment language is usually shorter since it only references the proposed bill change and is usually made available earlier in the legislative process.
