Filter Your Search

After running a search you can refine your results with the filter options available on the left hand filter menu.

Any filter that is selected will: 

• Automatically run a new search
• Change the results
• Populate a breadcrumb at the top of the screen below the search bar. You can remove these filter selections either in the filter panel on the left or by clicking the x on the selection at the top.

Filter by Measure Type

You can search individual or multiple measure types at a time

Filter by Legislative Session Year

Click on the toggle and search across legislative measures from previous session years. Select single or multiple session years at once.

 

Filter by Jurisdiction or Locality

Filter by jurisdictions and/or localities.  Check the "Do not show local ordinances" box to remove local ordinances from your search results  Use the dropdown arrows to access the localities for each jurisdiction

Filter by Status and Stage

	Legislation Status	Allows you to refine your search results down to the legislative status of a bill as reported by the state. Learn more about Status Filters
	Legislation Stage:	Filter your report to find bills that have made it past a certain stage.  Example:  Selecting Passed First Committee will generate a result list that includes every measure that has moved at least beyond the first committee. Learn more about Stage Filters
	Regulation Stage:	Filter your report to find regulation that has made it to a certain stage.

 

Filter by State Net Designated Topics

Every bill and regulation introduced and entered into the LexisNexis® State Net® database is indexed under a three- level numerical indexing system ranging from a broad to a very specific focus. For example: Topic 2 is assigned to all regulations concerning business and corporations, a very broad category containing hundreds of regulations. Subtopic 2.4 narrows the search to measures concerning business practices; and subtopic 2.4.4 further pinpoints only those bills that deal specifically with business takeovers: Business and Corporations = 2 Business Practices = 2.4 Business Takeovers = 2.4.4

Filter on Tracking Status

	Tracked	Filter for measures that are tracked and not suppressed
	Untracked	Measures that have not been tracked
