Saved Search Profiles allow you to save and reuse your most frequently used term phrases, topics and jurisdiction selections.
Term Profiles
A term filter that can be applied to any search
A term search can range in complexity from a single word ("term") to a more complex series of words connected by operators. A term profile is a saved set of terms that can be applied across multiple searches and used ad hoc to run a new search.
1. On your State Net® homepage, click into the empty search bar. If you have terms already saved (term profiles), a dropdown will appear that displays the first 5 saved term profiles. If you have more than 5, the rest are hidden behind a "+ View all term profiles" button, which, when expanded, will display a scrollable list of all saved term profiles.
2. Click on the name of one of your saved term profiles. The chosen profile name will populate in the search bar. The report results will be produced based on the saved terms for that term profile.
Please note: Only one term profile can be run at a time.
You can remove the profile by clicking the X button in the crumb (see below) just like on the search results page.
Topic Profiles
A saved grouping of topics to be applied to any search
The saved Topic Profile feature gives you the ability to select Topic Profiles from the Topics pre-filter menu on the Home Page.
If you want to create a new topic profile, please reach out to your State Net solutions consultant.
To begin a search from a pre-filtered topic profile, click on the "See More" button under the main search bar.
If you have saved topic profiles, the "Filter by Topic" dropdown menu will now be visible and your saved topics will appear in the dropdown
When you make a profile selection, all topics within the profile will be applied. When you run your search the selected profile name(s) will appear at the top of the search results page.
Jurisdiction Profile
A saved set of jurisdictions to be applied to any search
Similar to the term and topic profiles—if you have a saved jurisdiction profile, a dropdown menu labeled "Jurisdiction Profiles" will appear in your jurisdiction filter dropdown. When you select a state profile, your results will be produced based on the states in the chosen profile.
To create a new jurisdiction profile, please reach out to your State Net solutions consultant.
- Each profile displays its name and a list of states within the profile
- You can select multiple jurisdiction profiles at a time. You can see the states that are applied by the blue letter (P) next to them.
- Note: If you have two or more selected profiles that contain the same state, removing one profile will only remove the states unique to that profile. The other profiles' selections remain intact.
Once you run your search the applied your results page will be sorted by the jurisdictions within that profile.
-
- Your selected profiles will automatically include the localities for each state in the profile unless you have localities hidden, which is an option in the jurisdiction picker window.
